Northeast Tour III
East Side or West side of the Island from Funchal.
Camara de Lobos is an attractive village by the sea whose main activity is fishing. Upon arriving at the village you will find many small colourful boats in the bay just waiting for fisherman to take them out to sea. Children and adults socialize in the narrow streets, a place where most of their time is spent.
At Camara de Lobos, the viewpoint where Winston Churchill took painting has his name on it. Churchill worked on his war memoranda and was impressed by the various landscapes that Madeira had to offer[and still offers], such as Camara de lobos, where he painted various pictorial depictions of the village.
